Must be doing something right...

Well, I am feeling lighter, feeling firmer, so I must be doing something right! Yeah!

I know my day Friday was NOT good at all! Spent the entire day shopping for a pair of women/junior snow pants for Holly's ski trip with the HOTH UB Church youth group. Found one pair in the entire city of Adrian! Well, OK....they had the bibbed snow pants, but there was NO WAY she would wear them. That one pair was marked $79.00 and was a Size Medium...which I KNEW would be too big for her. I didn't want to spend that much either, so continued shopping.

I was with my Mom & Stepdad, and we all started to feel a tad bit hungry after about 4 stops so my stepdad pulled into Culver's. You wouldn't think those paper-thin hamburgers could hold so many calories! Then Holly wanted Pizza for dinner before she went up to church to head out on her ski trip.

Then it was a mad rush to get back to the school to pick Holly up. I knew I was going to be late, as when we left Adrian I only had about 20 minutes to be there...so she went to the fitness center to wait for me.

We had a couple of stops we needed to make in order for her to have everything she needed for her ski trip...then it was home to let her get around...

It was then off to the chiropractor. Holly & I have both been having serious issues with our backs lately. Me, because of over-lifting at work and Holly has no clue what she did. Dr. Scott commented on how tight the muscles were along the spine, right between the shoulders. That is where most of my pain has been though...so he worked it good and suggested or hinted that I should go back in on Saturday for another adjustment with Dr. Becky. To which I did.

I've done well with my workouts this week. Curves both Thursday and Saturday...and I've done some strength training, starting back with my challenges. I felt really sore after Thursdays workout though, so it really worked it good but the data on the CurvesSmart computer showed weakness in that area. After my workout on Saturday however, it was my strongest point of the workout. So, maybe a combination of working on Thursday and the chiropractic adjustments have helped loosen things up a bit. I had my adjustment Saturday just before my workout. Maybe there is a connection there...LOL.

I ate fairly well yesterday. A bit over on my fat content as I had kept my calories fairly low during the day, so when I was fixing Chicken and White Bean Soup for my dinner, I munched on two chicken thighs while the soup cooked... then ate just one bowl of soup. Still fell within my calorie range for the day though... so all was good.

OK...guess I should get my day started... Been on here working and reading myfitnesspal.com blogs, my plan, etc. Time to get motivated and get something done. Need to clean off my desk again, and get my files set up and organized.

Keeping the Fingers Crossed....

Last Night's Facebook Status:
Time for me to call it a night... Going to make myself leave the house tomorrow on my day off and go work out... NO EXCUSES! Night everyone, have a great day!

Well, I did it, I got my self out of bed, showered and went to Curves to work out. I also talked to the owner, as she ran an ad in the local newspaper looking for an assistant manager trainee. This is right up my alley. Gets me a start in the direction I want to go in my life. My goal has been, that once my divorce is final, I would love to become a personal trainer. This could get me the push I need, give me a bit of training in nutrition, fitness, anatomy, etc. I need. I've wanted to get a jump start online with learning a few things before I take classes. I totally do not remember even a quarter of what I learned in school about anatomy!

The owner said she would pull my application as I had applied a couple months ago but they were not hiring. She plans on starting interviews next week...so, wish me luck, say a prayer or two, and keep those fingers crossed! I really could use the job right now not only to give me a jump start in what I want out of my life, but also as my hours at work have been cut.

I did fairly well with my workout today. It's only my second workout in 6 weeks due to injuring my back at work. It still blows my mind a bit that it says my abs are not quite as strong as they should be. I have rock hard abs! I love crunches, and ab workouts. Hmmmmm, time to get the fitness ball back out and use it regularly. Not just when I think I should.

My other area I was low in was the trapezious, or the muscles near the spine between the shoulder blades. That is very much expected though right now, as that is where I injured my back, and it is also where the majority of my curve is from my scoliosis. A week or two of continuous working out and I should be good. I'm already starting to feel less stress and tightness in my back there.

I would share my weigh in and measurements from today, but they are changing computer programs and my information has not yet been updated in the computer.... so I will get it later, when she has my information re-entered. BUT... I did loose 2 lbs from my last weigh in. I am down to 147 lbs. Seven pounds from my happy weight, and 12 lbs from where I would like to see myself. There was a few slight differences in my measurements, but considering it's that TOM again, and it was a different coach measuring today, the placement of the tape measure could be off slightly. But, overall, we are pleased with my results. Maintaining is better than gaining...

I am working on creating a 50x50 mini bucket list. 50 things I want to accomplish before I turn 50 years young. A few of the items I have included...

1. Complete the 200 squat challenge
2. Complete the 200 lunge challenge
3. Complete the 100 push-up challenge
4. Become a personal trainer
5. Go on a hike
6. Make fitness a habit

I'm only created half the list...so any reasonable suggestions would be welcomed!

I have 9 years to complete my list...and being that a few of my physical one's are pretty tough, I best start working on those soon or I will never be able to do it. Not so sure I could handle 100 pushups at 50 years of age...LOL.

Starting Over, Yet Again...

Well, my Nothing To Loose Challenge did not go so well... I gained weight, gained inches in some areas, yet lost in others.

My biggest down fall was hours picked up at work, so not as many days off to go to Curves...well, I could have, but I find it so hard to get up and be there at 6:30 in the morning to go before I take Holly to school, then to have time to shower and make it to work in time. Then on top of that, I injured myself at work... my own fault really as I tend to always think "I'm tougher than I look". Well, the sales people continually sold the car jack sets from the floor rather than the stock room, so needless to say, my doing fill floor, I needed to replenish the floor. I should have had the guys do that for me as each box weighs 74 lbs... half my weight. But instead, I did it myself. The last month I have been paying for it with very sore, knotty muscles between the shoulder blades. Even tried going to Chiropractor...it helped my neck but not between the shoulders.

Today I did attempt a workout at Curves. I wasn't sure I was going to make it around the complete circuit twice... but I kept at it. My heart rate was up, I was sweating up a storm, it burned my leg muscles, and I could really feel the tension between the shoulder blades... so not how my usual workout is. It's usually a good workout, but fairly easy for me. I could definitely tell I had not worked out in a month...

Tomorrow is suppose to be my weigh in at Curves...but it's a busy day for me so won't make it there. Hopefully I can make it up there on Thursday either early morning or after work... I will update my weight and start new. I gotta get back to where I was 3-1/2 years ago. I felt so much better then physically & emotionally. It's totally amazing how feeling healthy and fit can boost one's self confidence.

I did make up a HUGE batch of The Miracle Diet Soup on Monday. Well, kinda. Country Market was out of Cabbage, out of a lot of veggies, so I substituted and added a few carrots, summer squash, and zucchini & I added Chicken Stock rather than just water. No, I am NOT following the diet plan. I do not believe in going 4 days with no meat or very few carbs. So, I am eating mainly a bowl of the soup and fruit in the morning, lunch time, fruit for snacks, then dinner time I have a regular meal... Kinda like the Slimfast diet... Two shakes, two snacks, and a sensible dinner...LOL And, this will only be for one week max. It's just a good way for me to flush my system of all the bad things I have been eating and jump start my progress.

As soon as I get my weigh in results at Curves... I will update here!

Let the journey begin...
