This weeks photo update... I am startign to see a bit of change in my muscle tone across the chest and arms...but just slightly. Gotta keep going with my push-ups.
Yesterday I went to the gym and did the AB Lab class with the Physical Trainer. It wasn't the 45 minutes of AB work that killed me, it was the 15 minute warm up on the bikes...LOL.
Since I'm I'm in one of my workout outfits, guess I might go down and do a Kick Boxing workout since I don't go into work until 11:00 today...
Enjoy your day everyone!

Just a Lazy Weekend...

Well, I had the weekend off of work and I spent it being quite lazy.

Friday, I left work and headed to Barns and Noble to pick up a book I wanted to see about getting...but then I forgot the name of it so picked up another book instead. It's a self help book in hopes I might be able to figure out ways to help my own marriage. So far the book focuses on changing myself rather than trying to change my spouse.... which I KNOW is what has to be done. I just want to read about ways to better do this for myself, for my marriage, for my family.

While at Barns and Noble, I also picked up Valentine's Day cards for my daughter and hubby. I also picked up a "deck of cards" which was not your typical playing cards. They were 52 Cheap Date cards. I bought that for hubby and I to give us some ideas of spending time together without having to spend alot of money. I read through them all yesterday after giving them to hubby with his card, and had to laugh at some of the "creative" ways they come up with to make a date. Most remind me of something a teenager would do...LOL.

After getting home Friday night, we got around and headed back into town for our usual payday dinner. Drew wanted to go to Grizzly's so that is where we headed. When we got there (it's in the mall) we noticed that they were doing an RV show so after dinner we checked out some of the RV's. They are so nice now a days...though, I tend to agree with Holly. The wallpaper and such is not the greatest. Seems like all of them they had were decorated in shades of brown. I would want more color then just brown, ivory, tan...

Drew also wanted to walk around the mall a bit and stop at Target. While he was checking out the movies, I was checking out the cameras. I found one that I wouldn't mind having. The one I had really been wanting, after much much thought, I decided was probably not really suited for me. I initially wanted the Canon Rebel XI or something to that effect. It's a DSLR camera and cost well over what we really could afford.

Well, while checking out the camera's I noticed that Canon has now come out with a Point and Shoot Camera that you can also use in manual mode... It's the Canon PowerShot SX110 SI. It has a 10x optical zoom lense, 9.0 mp. I walked over and told Drew about it. He boght it for me! Wooo Hooo! And it was about half the price of what the other camera I wanted was.

I am really happy with this camera so far. I've spent alot of time this weekend playing with the camera...trying to figure out how to shoot in manual and get good pics... I just need to find someone to teach me. I am so much better at learning when someone shows me rather than trying to read about it.

Drew mentioned to me on Friday evening that he had to go into town on Saturday with one of his new Airmen. This airman just got into town Friday and has nothing but his clothes. He left everything else at home as he is straight out of Basic Training and Tech School. This is his firt Duty Station.

So, Saturday morning, we got up and around. I gave Drew his Valentine's day card and the box of cards I bought for us and I left Holly's box of chocolates and card on the kitchen counter for her as she had not yet come down stairs. We left and went to pick up Sgt. Hernandez and headed to town showing him places of interest, the good restraunts, the bad, etc.

Drew told him that we were going to take him out for lunch, so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. I did "ok" but not great. Since it was Sgt. Hernandez's first time there, we were talked into the sampler appetizer by the waitress... I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad with local ranch, so at least that was not bad... I did drink LOTs of water though.

Stopped at Walmart so Sgt. Hernandez could buy bedding and laundry stuff for his dorm, then headed to the mall so he could check that out. Drew and I checked out more of the RV's that were on display and found one we really liked. Drew even figured he could live in one after the kid graduates HS and moves out of the house...LOL.

After the mall, we headed back to base and helped Sgt. Hernandez carry his stuff into the dorm then we went home and made up our grocery list and headed back out to the Commissary to get groceries.

The rest of the day was pretty lazy. As I mentioned, I played with my camera alot over the weekend. Got a really cute picture of Lucy and spend much time trying to photograph my wedding rings. That wasn't a very successful time...LOL. My emeralds keep turning out way to dark. Today though, i was finally able to get a decent shot but it's not focused well since I do not have a tri-pod...well, I've got a small one, but have no clue where it's at.

I also watched the Daytona 500 today... my guys didn't do well. Jr. got into Brian Vickers causing a 9 car accident... and Mark Martin, who was definately my favored driver to win this race today as he's never won Daytona 500 in his career, finished 16th...

I've not tracked my food intake the past few days so all I can say is they were not totally the best choices. Mostly because of eatting out. Dinner Friday night was not bad as I had a salad with fat free dressing, steak, and steamed broccoli. Lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings as I mentioned could have been better had I not eatten the appetizers. Today was our usual Sunday breakfast.. I didn't eat lunch as I was not hungry. Dinner was a small portion of spaghetti with a meat sauce, cheese garlic bread, and a half plate of fresh veggies...

My workouts...

I have not done much for working out, however, I have done pushups the last two days and I did some bicyle curls while laying in bed reading last night so it's not a total flop there.

Yesterday's Post...

Busy Busy Day...
Well, today was not too bad a day for me. I kept myself busy. I got up this morning early as I knew I would have to leave for work early with the roads as bad as they have been. I got up, showered, dressed, checked my email and boards and still had time to kill. Since I had time yet, I worked more on laundry, washed another load or two and folded some too. I also cleaned up the kitchen from last nights snack dishes that were never taken care of. Some day, hubby and daughter will start doing that on their own. They used too...but who knows what happened with that.
The roads to work were not all that bad today. I was able to drive a whole whopping 40 mph all the way to work. Sure beats the 25-30 mph that I was willing to attempt yesterday. I got to work about 20 minutes early so sat in the breakroom and chatted with the other associates who arrived early. One of the girls said she actually ended up doing a 360° this morning on the way in as the roads were bad out her way yet. Not that they were much better between the base and the bypass. But at least there was a few clear spots from where others had driven over the past 24 hours or so...
I got to work and noticed that my closer did not do any of the UPS shipments nor had he cleared off the desk so I worked on getting that done. I knew I couldn't exactly fault him too much without first finding out how busy they were. From my understanding, MPU was not very busy but the store did make goal yesterday, surprisingly enough considering the weather and roads. Still, hard to fault him knowing he had to close by himself since I did not go in to work.
I appologized to the store manager about not coming in, but I felt it was just not a good idea for me to drive at night. She was very understanding but did make a comment that an hour after I called, everything just cleared right up... My thinking now... well, ok, the FOG cleared up, but the ice on the roads did not...LOL. It's not like they can really say much about me missing work anyway since that WAS my first call out in about 9 years. I'm a very dedicated employee and if I am scheduled to be at work, I will be there if at all possible. Even other associates commented on the roads had to have been bad for me not to have come in...
After getting the UPS processed and my desk cleared off, I went over to help Donald do some moving of merchandise. He was clearing away the tractor attachments so I definately got an upper body workout with that...LOL. Those snow plow attachments, dethatchers, ramps, etc. can get quite heaving for a women of my size...LOL
Oh, speaking of which, I had a customer buy a treadmill and picked it up today. Since I was the one on the SNC, I took the treadmill out to their vehicle. She looked at me and comments on how fit I must be... asked if I liked my job, how old I was, etc. She was TOTALLY in shock when I told her I would be 40 years old in May. She couldn't believe how strong I was and how fit I was for almost 40 years old...LOL I was telling our store manager about the comments and she laughed. She too agreed, that I definately do not look like I am going to be 40 years old...
I was not so sure that our two trucks would make it to the store today...let alone be on time. They did. The first truck, scheduled for noon, was only half an hour late so not bad at all. The second truck, appliences, has a window of 12:00-4:00 and actually arrived about half hour after the first truck. We got both trucks offloaded within 3 hours or so. Luckily they both were small deliveries.
By the time we got the trucks offloaded and things somewhat put away, it was time for me to head back home. Roads were much better tonight than they were this morning...though, still not great. I was at least able to go 50 mph on both the bypass and 83...LOL.
Well, time for me to head in and watch CSI with the hubby...

Slip Sliding Away...

Well, that's how it felt anyway heading to work today. I didn't even make it to work. It took me close to 30-35 minutes just to go 10 miles. Decided, that my life and safety was more important than going to work and having to drive home on the sheet of ice that covers the highway after dark tonight. I stopped in the middle of the turnaround, called work, and told the manager that I just was not comfortable driving on the roads right now and that I would be even more uncomfortable having to drive home after dark. It's an 18 mile drive one way, and there was no way I wanted to try after dark driving on that sheet of ice.

Two days ago, we had rain all day long. That night, we got about 2-4 inches of snow on top of all the standing water. I went to work yesterday, though the roads were bad coming home. It's been snowing all day today too. Ya know, I think that today was the first day I have called out of work for any reason since my daughter fell out of the tree house breaking her leg and wrist...and that was about 5 years ago.

I had initially planned on going to the gym this morning to try the Ab Lab class that is offered, but since the base was on a delay report, doctor appointments were cancelled, I figured they probably would not have the class at 9:15... considered seeing about the Turbo Kick class at 11:00 but then I would have missed lunch with hubby so decided against that too.

Since I did not go to work today, I did spend 40 minutes shoveling the driveway as hubby got stuck in it this morning. Initially, I only spent about 15 minutes out there. Got the drift at the end cleared away just to have a snow plow go bye 10 minutes after I came inside and leave a foot to two of snow in the drive again... So, out to do another 25 minutes of shoveling just so hubby could get in the driveway after work.

I also did some strength training today too... so overall a good day.
